One of the most important aspects of the assistant missionary program is gaining preaching experience, for it pleases God to use the foolishness of preaching to bring souls to salvation.
Recently, I've been asked multiple times about what exactly an assistant missionary does. While the program includes training sessions with missionary coaches and daily working underneath a missionary, the goal of the program is to provide real ministry experience and training before becoming a missionary, especially in the preaching of the Word of God. In accordance with this, I was given the privilege to preach at Big Creek Baptist Church on January 2nd. Having opportunities such as this, continually confirms the calling of God upon my life and excites me to think what the future of serving God holds.
It will always amaze me that God chooses to use preaching to bring people to salvation, and it will always amaze me that God has chosen me to have a part of that ministry.
