MAKING A DEPOSIT
We have been depositing in our youth at Canaan Land. As a child who did not grow up in the church setting, it is my heart’s desire to deposit the Word and teachings of our Lord into the hearts and minds of our youth. It is never too early to start teaching our children about the importance of service to our Savior.
Along with our normal Sunday School and Wednesday S.P.L.A.T. youth classes, we are also having a monthly youth service. During this service, we have a child that has studied and prepared, present our morning devotion. So far, these have been surprisingly good. They also choose the songs and lead our song services. Next, during these services, they pray for and take up the morning offerings.
The Apostle Paul makes a statement to Timothy in 1st Timothy 4:12 “let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity”. Sometimes it takes a little nudge to see our youth spread their wings and fly. One thing we must remember, as like-minded believers, our youth are the future of the church. This is an investment well made. These investments will have an 'out of this world' return!
