BMA Of America
Executive Director of Missions
BMA Global President Dr. John David Smith has served the BMA for thirty-three years, the last thirteen at the Global Ministry Center in Conway, AR. The son of a pastor and church planter, he was exposed to missionaries very early on when they stayed with the Smiths during speaking engagements and through his church’s Galilian program. He surrendered his life to ministry at the age of eighteen then a few months later surrendered his life to international missions.
He and his wife Kim, who also has a heart for missions, followed God’s call to Cape Verde, Africa, where they lived for twelve years with their sons Josiah and Seth. His focus on the mission field was developing disciple makers and leaders who focus on multiplying churches, a vision that remains today.
After returning stateside, working toward his doctorate, and serving Missions at the Little Rock location, Smith began teaching at Central Baptist College. In addition to missions education, he also enjoys mobilizing and equipping students, and all men and women called to missions.
