South Forrest Baptist Mission Hosts Evangelism Explosion Training

South Forrest Baptist Mission hosted the first of what they hope will be an annual event to equip folks to witness and share the gospel. Missionary Sidney Farmer coordinated the instructional and hands on training in Evangelism Explosion through the Baptist Missionary Association of America Theological Seminary. Thirty people participated, 100 contacts were made during the training and 20 full presentations of the gospel were given. The training, led by Dr. Phillip Attebery, Dean of BMATS, and Dr. Charley Holmes, President of the BMATS, was uniquely tailored to include adults and children. Among those who participated in the training are two men who serve on the board of trustees for the seminary; Dennis Knight, Pastor of Paramount Baptist Church, and Ted Quinby, Member of Midway First Baptist in Sumrall.

This marks the third time that Dr. Holmes and Dr. Atteberry have come to Mississippi to conduct Evangelism Explosion training. The first time was in Mantachie, then, later in Clinton and now at South Forrest. We are grateful to these men for the sacrifice of time made to invest in the lives of others.

Missionary Farmer and people from South Forrest Mission have been involved in the training each time it has been conducted. Evangelism training is an essential part of the overall Discipleship training that Missionary Farmer continues to emphasize as crucial to church planting.
